We are a community-based group of gardeners and allotment holders based on the Stud Farm estate in Polegate, behind the Thoroughbred Inn.
Membership of the Society is £2 per year and is open to all residents of the Stud Farm estate and allotment holders from off the estate. For a similar fee, other people can become Associate members.
We run a small trading facility at the allotment site (The Lawns, Hyperion Avenue), selling gardening supplies and sundries at very good value for money. Our Trade hut is open from 10 - 11.30 on Sunday mornings from March to October. We also open some Saturday mornings - see the Society’s Noticeboards around the estate for details.
We organise a number of events during the year where members meet to enjoy time together. Usually, this is over light refreshments, we hold afternoon teas, soup lunch times, boules evenings, a quiz, a games evening (on the eve of the Annual Show), an after Show Supper and a Christmas Supper (at the Thoroughbred Inn).
Our biggest event of the year is our Annual Show held in August which has over 80 classes that members can enter from Vegetables and Flowers to Cookery and Photography.
